"Supporting young mothers in the pursuit of financial independence, education, and stability."

We are pleased to invite graduating high school mothers of Nelson County who are seeking to further their education through college or technical/trade school to apply for the Robertson New Life Scholarship. 

For the 2024-2025 academic year: One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded per fall and spring semester.

This scholarship is specifically designed for mothers pursuing education. Our goal is to support young mothers in the pursuit of financial independence, education, and stability. These funds are intended to help the mother to use toward childcare, transportation, tuition, books/supplies, tutoring, or housing expenses. Receipts of ALL expenses used from scholarship funds MUST be submitted along with transcripts each semester.

Applicant Requirements:

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must...

• Have become a mother prior to turning 19 years old

• Must have custody (sole or shared) of said child/children

• Must be a Nelson County Resident

• Must display Financial Need

• Must be actively pursuing post-secondary education (Includes college and or training/trade program. Excludes Graduate "Master's", "PHD" programs). 

• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

• Recipient must also meet any education program-specific criteria above and beyond that is outlined in their major or area of study, if applicable.
